What is with all the DECEPTION on this Board? Is Honesty dead?

I can't believe all the bull**** I am reading about people lying and cheating DECENT people in buy/sell transactions. What the **** is going on?? It has happened to many good folks here and I am afraid it is happening to me also.
I sold a guy some parts in which the transaction went great. Then he wanted some more parts and since he had been so honest and forthcoming the first time around I shipped to him, with a promise to send payment ASAP. He is POLICE OFFICER of all things!! He got the package NOVEMBER 2ND 2009 and yet I have not gotten one red ****ing cent yet. My mom is sick.....I mailed the check..... it got lost......I will track it.....I will resend another one.......
I have not told ANYONE about this, trying to give someone who MAY have an ailing mom CHANCE AFTER CHANCE. He sends me pm after pm blowing smoke up my ass .... "I am sending payment asap". I even said to him to send it Priority/Registered mail and TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF WHAT I AM OWED!! Yet I still have NOTHING.
To top it all off I read a post in which he states he is "actively looking for a Big Block to buy".

Where is dignity, decency and honesty gone??
 
I despise it when they use the family member is sick or died excuse , if so quit surfing car forums. It is not that difficult to go to the grocery store and buy a M.O. I would send an email to his department, internal affairs would be a good start.
 
Been wondering that for the last few months myself. Especially when you try selling something and you have 5 guys that say they want it and are ready to send payment, but......it never happens.

Post his name or maybe his phone number and address. Nothing like an honest cop.
 
Even the simple things. Like how about replying to your post or sending an email saying you will take it or not. Instead you have to assume that you didn't get a reply after 2 to 3 days that they are not taking the part. Sucks when you have other buyers that maybe interested.

its the new breed of turbo buick owners.
and maybe a sign of the rough times everyone is going through.
still ...... no excuse!
 
Thats why I try to research the members I deal with and tend to shy away from the newer members who have not listed allot of stuff in the 4 sale section and have no trader rating... not sure fire, but then again what is these days???

Its not the new breed, some people are still and will always be piece's of chit no matter how old or long they've been on the board. There's few people in this world that you can actually trust nowadays :rolleyes:, its sad but true.

I can't imagine how difficult it would be dealing with a sick mother - I am trying to err on the side of compassion here.
I just sent him a pm(see below) - hopefully this will make a difference. Notice the dollar amount - we're not talking a few bucks here or else I would have just left it alone and give him peace to deal with an ailing mother. Even a minor attempt to send me some money would have sufficed but not now, I want this transaction done. Unbelievably his join date to this Board is May 2001 - so he is a Senior member.

eff that... Business is Business! "tell mike it wasn't personal, just business" -Sal Tessio, right before he got wacked.

I try to treat each transaction on here as i would any other business (retail, private, etc)
 
Or send money......wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, Ahhhh, no part arrives! Ive been waiting on a part for sometime now. Sent PM's for tracking numbers and nothing! This person has a good trader rating but that does not make me feel any better because I do not have my part.:mad: Soon as you post it, there's ten people telling you that they know them personally and you're an idiot! :frown:

A friend of mine said, you're taking a big chance with your money sending it to a non-vendor, and Im like no,no, take a look at their trader rating and how long they have been a member and it will be okay:rolleyes:

Even a few past vendors took advantage of people. We all know who they are & they are long gone.

Ravi, being he is a cop I would be calling his station & asking for his boss.
For all we know he isnt even a cop but just set you up for the score. people have no Morals these days. they used to be important & your word meant something but its all slowly dying off.
Karma will get them back & you will get your pay back as well one day altho you may never connect why you had the good luck that day. Its you getting yours cuz you are honest!

I felt sorry for a guy one time. I heard all the my moms sick, my grandma died for the 3rd time this year, etc. Costed me 30k. He went on to light up the crack pipe for a long time after that. I don't go to work and say oh boo give me a free check. They expect service. Same with purchasing items/services from people or business's. Shouldn't be any nonsense involved. Pay and get the service/item. End of story. People will take advantage of you. Remember the old saying nice guys finish last. Ever had a chic dump you and say you're to nice? Then a week later see her servicing the jerk up the street. Get my point? Good luck!
 
Try that with Shopping Channel or maybe buying a TV etc. Your credit is tagged & they HOUND You so Ravi, Enuf being Nice Go after Him! When you get the $$ let us know & if in a month you dont have it Spread His Name as it may be ME that gets it next time!!
Nice is Nice but you need to be Realistic about it. I'm sure your 3 kids could use the $$ for education or summer camp??

Problem is Ravi is a VERY Good Hearted Person & I have known & dealt with him for many years. Time to make him Own Up & face the music. Your in the right so your karma will come back better than you could hope for later!

I am dealing with a sick Mother. She's in a nursing home and her heart is slowly giving out. It's not fun.
That being said, there is no excuse not to pay you what you're owed. If you got proof this guy "bought" your parts and didn't pay then let's have his name and add it to the seemingly long list of dickwads that are screwing people.:mad:
 
I deal with people who tell me the check is in the mail every day. Suprising how money magically appears after they get served by their local sheriff;)

BTW, I always ask buyers and seller to post feedback and I am diligent in doing so as well... It seems like one of the only ways to solidify a decent reputation.
 
What a sham! If there is time to deal with a sick mother there is time to take care of business!.. Some people just have no moral character and they come from all walks of life. Just post the facts about the crook in the feedback section.
