I've never had a grill. Would like to get propane. Any advice on what I should look for? FYI. I'm in Hawaii...so year round use and will be outside behind the house.

Charcoal is better (let the war begin)

Any cheap wire grill will do. I think Weber sells a 60" round grill and it is huge! Looks just like the little round kettle. You can fire up a small pile in it to cook for a few people, or throw a whole tree in it when you want to cook for many people.

Here ya go! A dollar a sq/inch - $1100.00!

I have a Weber Genesis Gas Grill and can't say anything bad about it. I liked the convenience and ease of startup especially for 'fast' foods such as steaks, chicken breasts, or fish.

What I've realized is that I use the grill now more for slower cooking such as ribs and whole chickens. Gas does leave a different taste than charcoal. So if I could do it again, I'd probably have gone charcoal.

And I've heard nothing bad about the Big Green Egg. I hear there's practically a cult following for this grill/smoker.

Big Green Egg, World's Best Smoker and Grill

Hope that helps.

Grill

The debate will always go on. If you have a charcoal grill or if your lucky , a smoker, you can always change the source of heat , and change the flavor of your meat. The biggest drawback is for slow cooking , like brisket you have to stoke your fire all night long. I hope this you make up your mind or at lest confuse you Thanks Bobby.

I agree that charcoal probably tastes better. I would like to use the grill for daily cooking. Think charcoal would be better for a portable beach grill. I have seen lots of grill that look like they survived an atomic bomb. They spend all there lives outside. Thats why I mentioned I lived in Hawaii. Was looking at the cheap $100 grill. But are they gonna die before there time.

Go to Sears and get yourself a Kenmore gas grill. They are good quality and reasonably priced. Plus you get a good warranty. Happy grillin!

Husband tells his wife that her a$$ is getting as big as his bbq grille. But then later he tries to get some. She tells him"I'm not firin up this biga$$ grille for one little weinie!!!

If you get a charcoal grill, don't get Match light charcoal. It makes your food taste like @$$. Get one of those newspaper chimney lighter things too. They are faster than lighter fluid, and your food wont taste funny.

Mmmmmm, I can taste the Mahi Mahi now:cool: .

Happy cookin...

The key to making a gas grill have better flavor is to line up grilling rocks under the grill/grate. When the food drippings start to collect, every time you turn the grill on it smells as if food is already on it. It seasons it. I've had the same rocks for 4 years. When the grill gets hot your mouth will start watering.
