What are you guys seeing on the vacuum brakes? Thanks, Clint
You look like you already have a car that is capable of 12's. Just because you think it feels slower than your LS1, don't mean that it is. Nice looking GN. I would suggest sitting down and reading and asking questions on these TR boards.
x2 Ifyou wanna go fast. I find boost adictive!!!These cars are way Kool man . That's great that you picked up a very nice low mileage one. She's a beaut... For sure get a ScanMaster 1st . A larger SLIC would be a very nice upgrade down the road, you may consider Alky and Turbo Tweak chip before the IC. So that you only spend a half a ton of money you might buy used. Lot of guys upgrade to larger turbos , injectors, FMIC. so alot of times you can get some low mileage equipment at a reasonable cost. Picked up a a good clean TE-44 turbo for $250, also a Translator and 3.5" MAF for $150. Some very goodguys on here and are very knowledgable and most of all willing to help out. Have fun and welcome aboard.
Go to TurboTweak - Turbo Buick Custom Chips and Parts. and get the 60's with matching chip. You will be very happy you did.
that chip is useless get a turbo tweak chip:wink: and call it the dayIt has a stock delco chip in it, but in the box of stuff that came with there was a hypertech chip. I installed it and I did notice a difference.
Welcome to the dark side, nice looking car. My suggestion is: before you even think about turning any wrenches you need to read, read, read. Almost anything you can think to ask has probably already been answered at least a half a dozen times so learn to use the search function. But if you can't find it, us guys love to talk so we'll answer it again and again.
As far as 12's. Some good tuning, good gas, more boost, traction, and a good launch and you should be pretty close with out having to spend a fortune. No stretch cooler needed. If you do want a little more a Duttweiler necked stock cooler can be a bargain and have been deep into the 11's. You will need some type of scan tool and with lots of patience you will find out it's not as hard as you think.
