Ted Whips It Out At Cecil

I'm pretty sure that is the quickest/fastest pass in TSO to date. That is a LOT of power for a GN1 headed motor:eek: Hope somebody out there is getting video??

Congrats to Ted!

According to my info, these TA heads are CNC ported as sold by TA. They were sent to Dan Strezo who assembled and installed them, but did not have time to flow them before installing on Ted's engine. These are the same type CNC heads that we obtained our 300 CFM flow numbers months ago from the first set sold by TA.

Guess the "skeptics" that were waiting to see if the TA heads would perform, now have their answer!

Congrats on your new records Ted.:)

I have a video on my phone, its tiny and I cant get it on my computer. It was a blast watching the tso cars though, its unbelieveable how fast they go with the restrictions they have.

No doubt Nick, I'd say Ted's engine was probably one of the best test beds to see how they perform. I'd also say 99% of the guys probably don't need a set that flows 300 CFM, but it's nice to know they have the potential at least:)

I shot the videos for all of TSO, due to some personal car trouble it is the least I can do to contribute to the Buick commuity. The video was shot on Ted's camera and will take a day or two to finally be made into videos.

Ted and his crew have a 10 hour ride back so sit tight the video of Ted's car and Avon cars are well worth it.

Ted........congrats again on your win and strong performance, after a tough year it is good to see it end on such a positive note for you, you deserve it.

Also on a personal side note here it was great to have a few drinks with Mr. Ted (Ted's Dad)..........I think he's hooked on Bud Select and it's 99 calories. Ted's Dad asked me how I kept such a great physique and I just pointed to the bottle of Bud Select. It was nice to meet Paul Thompson and I gotta tell ya I personally didn't find Dave Bamfords checkbook to be arrogant at all........Dave bought me a soda.

Thanks for getting some video for us Rich.

BTW, I assume Ted also got the Wally??;)

Congrats Ted, that is haulin!

Anybody want to share what turbos are being used? Both Ted and Avon have great MPH!

Thx

>>> I do what I can to help the community, that's why I am so loved.

As far as Ted and his Wally or whatever he calls it, I feel it is not appropiate for me to comment.

Wonder how much difference the no wind will make.

Basically none :). Today was mostly calm, with just a few gusts much weaker than Friday and coming from the side rather than behind, and everyone went quicker and faster today.

Oh, I asked Ted about his motor and he said that he cracked a GN1 head through a spark plug hole to both sides of the deck at Osceola on his maiden 8.58 (or whatever it was) so this time he is running TA heads. Still stock style, not stage II heads, but not GN1's.

Ted wanted me to emphasize that those are borrowed TA heads so he could run at Cecil, not his. Any further questions, ask him.

Oh boy, I'd like to be the lucky owner of those heads now that you know their partial potential. I'm sure the final home for those heads will be some wicked ride!

We are dwelling on the heads a lot. Remember, Ted's also set that record with a Big Stuff 3. It's the total combination that's working for him. DLS built a great motor, the Big Stuff 3 is controlling everything. The converter is a Neil Chance and that apparently is set up right too! Maybe Ted can give us some slippage numbers on that 163+ pass!

Mr checkbook will probably be buying another set, I bet he will have a haed time getting his back from Ted!

Carl, you are correct, they ARE TSM TA heads prepared by DLS engine development with some of Dans tricks. When guys jump on Dave they should understand that he is not out now because of his generosity and giving up his heads so I could go out again this year. I think that deserves a BIG thanks and I can only imagine what he is going to do with these TA heads when he comes back out....

Yep, we figured there wasn't much in the tail wind.

Update. Ted Won TSO, a big congrats to him. 8.49 @ 163 and change. I'm pretty sure that's a new MPH record as well. Avon took a big chunk of the tree and had a good three car lengths on Ted but then something went away on Avon's car and Ted drove around him for the win.

No doubt, he bit off a BIG chunk and looked over at me and spit it out and smiled when he took off. That threw me off my game big time and I forgot to let off the T-brake button.

We are extremely happy with the support that John Meaney has given us. The product is all it is advertised to be and we are having a great time tuning this thing and it is doing what we are telling it. Dans motors obviously speak for themselves. He has done a great job and also helping out with other things with the car, talk about support after the sale. The DLS-Chance converter is working better with more power we are putting into it.

A big thanks to Paul Thompson for pushing the magic keys on the Big Stuff this weekend.

Dave Bamford, Paul Thompson, Dad, Rich Rezes, Komer Race Cars and Mike Licht. Thanks for your help and support. Ed Baker, Tommy, Sean and all the other guys I am forgetting we had a great time in the little time we had.

Ted,

Add a disclaimer about Dave's heads too.
