i live in south shore mass and today was the first decent day weve had in a while that i didnt have to work and the roads werent terribly salty. so i go to pick up a friend and get something to eat. cop pulls me over and and puts the window tint tester on my car. tells me its too dark, its 25%. then asks if i just bought which i did, i told him i bought it in california (where im sure thats legal) comes back with a ticket for $250!!! im sure i can beat it in court but now i have to take the day off. the worst thing is the windows are practically see through , it couldnt possibly hide a thing. sorry just venting cuz its the stupidist ticket ever. not too mention what middle aged guy writes a ticket to someone in a 87 GN. have some class ahha

That bites, but I have been there as well, peeling tint is not fun either. Getting pulled over strictly for tint is a big bright sign of the king of A-holes. With mine I just happened to forget to roll all my windows down so he got me for tint as well.

I just have a problem that it's legal to tint and SUV and Pickup as much as you'd like, but not a passenger vehicle.

I got one a few years back when the wife had a Mustang. The ticket was only 86 bucks though. Mass sucks. I lived there for a couple of years on the south side of Boston. That place has some crazy people.

Several people have got out of tickets here in Georgia by getting a shady doctor to sign a statement saying they had migrain headaches due to UV Rays. I guess you would really need a letter signed a while back to make it look legit though.

I got pull over years ago same situation, I had just got the car. I belive mine tested high just becouse they were old and the tint had started turning a purple color.

Man that sucks! I got a "fix it ticket" for my tint and I live in California, where its illegal to have any sort of tint on the front windows. Not to mention the tint is a mirror finish where as no one could really see inside the vehicle unless your at the exact angle and the light is right....... but since it was a fix it ticket I just had my wife sign it off:D ..... most of the times I dont even get a ticket, after they run the plates that is:D .... but this cop was on a bike and since he didnt give me a speeding ticket (which is a miracle since thats all they do!) Id figure I fix it ticket was cool with me. I think he knew he was hooking me up

Here in Utah it has to be 43% ...but that is so light why even waste your money. My TR has to get safety inspected every year before I can renew my plates.

I can't even count all the times I had been pulled over just because of tint on my old Iroc. Just been one time on the GN, I think has to do with the fire fighter association decal my friend gave me:eek:

I've got 5% all the way around, try to only drive it on warm enough days to have the windows down, or I've got to be quick enough to spot them before they spot me. IMO, nothing looks better on a GN than DARK tint.

Fight that ticket anyway you can, find some shop to sign a paper saying that it's been removed and is now legal.

I got one with my mustang, and all I did was take pictures into court showing that I had removed it and they dropped it. Actually all I did was strip one side, took pictures, then put them on the computer and reversed them. It looked like I had done both sides. Easier to take off one side and then you only have to get one side re-tinted;)
just my .02

I once had a guy come into my office to ask who's silver Yukon was parked outside. He had the same exact vehicle but with tinted windows. He got a ticket and took pictures of my identical truck without tinting, to show he "removed" his when he went to court. I did not know him or know if it worked but it seemed like a great idea.

I feel your pain! My car is limo tinted all the way around with a HOTROD Power Tour sticker in the back. I have to roll the windows down when I drive on the street. You can't imagine the looks I get when I have the car on the trailer going to the strip :D The price I have to pay to hide the roll cage on a 9 second car :D
