    Vacuum Brake Conversion Issues

    1st problem: Normal braking at best, no panic stop capability. On my '86 GN I used '86 N/A-6 master cylinder & booster (is this an OK unit to use?). Vacuum from vacuum block. New brake pads/shoes and all wheels bled. 2nd problem: Brake pedal slow to return, 4 - 5 seconds.

    Vacuum Brakes, gaskets?

    I have started the vacuum brake conversion. After removing the Powermaster unit there remains a rubber seal bonded to the firewall. Should this be removed before installing the vacuum boost unit? Is it supposed to be mounted metal to metal? Is there supposed to be a gasket between the vacuum...

    Daily Driver, Bigger Turbo?

    Any advantage (performance) for replacing stock turbo for say a TA-49 on a street driven GN (93 Octane & 15-17 psi)? Does turbo efficiency result in better street performance? With both turbo's running the same boost I would think the performance would be the same, right?

    Ignition Switch Problem

    Has anyone had an ignition switch problem where the "lock" and "start" positions are locked out when gear selector is in "park". It acts as if the gear selector were in drive (can move key from off to on, but not start). Thanks for any insight.

    Car was running great.......shut off......2 hrs later will not star, why?

    Has this happened to any of you? Any clues? Car ('86 GN, with basic mods and trans +) was running fine, pulled into the garage and shut it off. A couple of hrs later went to start and engine would turn over but not a single pop. All connections appear to be tight. How could it be running...

    Knock vs Performance vs Engine Damage

    I know that when knock occurs timing is retarded (less performance). But, how many degrees of retard (on Scanmaster) before computer can not reduce timing to save engine? Thanks.

    The E85 fuel is now available in my area. Would one adjust the boost/fuel/spark as if running racing fuel? Any negatives for using this fuel?

    CC980 Valve Springs, Washers Required?

    I plan on installing new valve springs soon (CC980's). I remember washers under the springs on Chev 350 enginer and assume they are on the '86 GN as well. If they are, should they stay or be removed when installing the higher spring-rate springs? Thanks.

    Fuel Pressure for 43# Injectors?

    For tuning purposes, what is a good starting point for fuel pressure? My '86 GN has 43 # injectors (mfg unknown) with a 93 octane street chip (mfg unknown) and I do use 93 gas. At 42 psi the 02's are in the 850+ range @ WOT, but the BL is 132/135 at cruise. Definitely idles better as fuel...

    Normal Shift Points - Gear Ratios

    '86 GN. Does anyone know the gear ratio in 1st and 2nd gear? Trying to determine the MPH at the WOT 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift for 5000 RPM and using stock size street tires. Also, what might cause shift at lower than expect 5000 RPM? thanks.

    Can xylene be added directly to the tank?

    With say 1/4 full gas tank can 1 1/2 gallons of xylene be added directly to the tank to get proper fuel/additive ratio, or do you need to be empty and thoroughly mix in container then add to the tank? Thanks.

    Injector ID Confirmation

    I was told the injectors on car are 43 lbs/hr, but I would like to know for sure. No numbers, but bottom half is grey and top half is black. Any idea? Thanks.
