CC980 Valve Springs, Washers Required?

I plan on installing new valve springs soon (CC980's). I remember washers under the springs on Chev 350 enginer and assume they are on the '86 GN as well. If they are, should they stay or be removed when installing the higher spring-rate springs? Thanks.

No washers on a buick. Maybe the chevy had Aluminum heads? The 980's will work fine out of the box or remove the inner damper spring and reuse the factory buick cups. Either way they will work fine.
