Just got done replacing the fuel pump in the GN:D , These last minute thrashes do suck. I second the (hope my junk holds together) thing!

Got to polish it and put it on the trailer tomorrow:)

Can't wait! How strict is tech as far as a lack of a bar and et's?

Just do what I do:

Bryon Tech How fast you running in this thing?

Me Mid 11s, maybe a bottom 11 if the track is workin good.

Note: Completing with straight face sometimes difficult, but keep your composure....

They have never asked me anything. If you runs 9s without a cage they may say something if they are paying attention. That happened to 2 of my buddies over the years. But if Cliff can get away with 8.90s without a cage, you have nothing to worry about.

That right there is how rumors get started!

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea.... My car does have a cage. ;)

That is right. Just busting on you. 2 of my buddies ran 9s without a cage and they called them to the tower. :p

HA, except I really would be running those times  Just checking to see if they enforce the 11.49 or faster, you need a bar rule. Hell, I usually tell the tech guy at the grove "I'll be lucky if this thing makes it down the track" :D

8.90s:rolleyes:    I gotta see this too:eek:

Ive run several low 11 second passes in my car and never got bothered by tech.

This is at Byron?

Can we get a sraight answer? Do they or do they not enforce a rollcage?

I run 10's at Byron all the time. No cage and no complaints.

Union Grove booted me on my first pass. I rolled in there with the wife and my little girl in a kiddie seat in back. Ran a 10.90 and got stopped at the tower. The guy ragged on me and said "you got no safety equipment in this thing". I said "Sure I do... I got a kiddie seat in the back!". That went over like a fart in church...

Here is what I will say about byron as far as the cages...

If your car makes clean straight passes, and the driver doesnt do anything they believe to be unsafe (driving fast in the pits, getting out of shape 300 feet out and staying in it, doing 100 foot wheelies) then I would say you will not be asked about a cage even if the car goes well into the 9s.

Even the few peeps I know that were running well into the 9s that Byron DID have a problem with were still allowed to race the rest of the day, and told to have a bar in it next time.... and have been back without a bar several times since....

I got the boot once for going 10.40 at byron while it was drizzling... cause I was ALL OVER the track but stayed in it... car had a cage, they basically told me I was done because I was unsafe....

That help Rick?

I am not sure where Byron draws the line. I have run a few 10s and a lot of low 11's and they never said anything to me. My budddy ran a 9.80 without a cage and they called him to the tower. I would say mid 10s and slower they probably wont say anything. But 9's they probably will. But they are pretty lose. So run it as fast as you can and see if they say anything.
