Am trying to track down a loud ticking noise.

Will xfi go into a bank or batch fire mode ?

If so would the injectors possibly be loud enough to sound like a bad lifter ?

Thanks

Well they might be a bit louder but nothing crazy. Put a screwdriver on the valve cover and listen.

They can be quite loud in B2B mode. If you are asking if the XFI will "automatically"go into B2B, it only does it at startup. You can verify this by watching the injector lights on the XFI box. Once it goes into run mode it will run sequentially if the car has a cam signal and is programmed to be SEFI. You can verify the program by hitting [F5] and looking at the global parameters and seeing if it's programmed for SEFI or B2B, or you can just watch the lights on the box :)

The ticking is constant , warm , cold , cruise, startup etc.
Just checked global parameters, is set to SFI.
Inj lights look to be lighting at different times.

While running is there any box to check or trouble code listed on laptop to csee it its batch firing ?

Would hate to tear engine down looking for tick, & find out latter its just all the injectors talking at once.

Have checked flexplate bolts, crank sensor contact, exhaust leaks, stethiscope, vacuum hose to ear, pulling one plug wire at a time, removed valve covers to see nothing broken & all pushrods snug.
Tick is being difficult to find.

You just verified it was in SEFI mode and the injector lights confirmed it. Try swapping it to B2B and see what you think.
