Would cam sensor cap cracked by mounting hole affect anything?

Would this affect anything? Also will the 86-87 cap work on an 84? Thanks

The crack shouldn't really affect anything...The cap isn't like a distributor cap that will miss if there is a crack...

Yes, the same cam sensor assembly was used on all 84-7 3.8L turbo motors...

If the crack is near the ears or the cap it shouldn't do anything. In fact, I drove my car for a month with no screws in the cap at all with no problems. I do not reccomend it though.
