Here is my winter project that had made its way into the summer. 8 gallon fuel cell, Weldon 2025 fuel pump in place of the stock tank, Red's double pumper. Soon (hopefully) will be pictures of my 274" on center stage 2 short block.

The new combo will be 274", 9.5:1 custom Diamond pistons, 6.3" Crower rods, 3.625 BMS crank, competition ported GN1 heads, 224/224 billet cam, fully ported Champion intake, 76HPQ turbo 3 bolt .85 (for now), Lonnie Diers V1 intercooler, single 4" aluminum exhaust, XFI, distributor, Crane ignition.

Should be a fun street car.

Looks great, very nice work. Were the Crowers custom or do they sell that rod "off the shelf"? I need to go see them for a cam and rods when I get to that point. Luckily they are about 3 miles from my house. ;)

Not sure about what Crower keeps on the shelf. You can get them whatever length, and end sizes you need. I bought these from Dave Husek.

Got the shortblock yesterday

Ooooh.... More info on those pistons? I assume they are coated, with the gas ports? Those look amazing, as does the whole short block!

The pistons are custom Diamond. We spent alot time specing them. They will clear both Stage 2 and production heads. The tops are ceramic coated, skirts moly coated. I was on the fence with the gas porting, but was told most turbo V8 cars are running them, and it would be a mistake to not get it. Time will tell. Sure looks purdy.

getting closer

wow nice! stepped ur game up a notch I see. now ur gonna give built streetbikes a run for their money. that looks nasty. tire fryer now

Thanks guys. It is running and driving. My new 1350 u-joint yoke is hitting the driveshaft loop under hard braking but other than that, it is good. After 5 mins of XFI guidance from Cal, it was running. Ironed out some restart fueling, and drove it 10 miles. This engine makes the 76HPQ spool like nothing. Rolling into it in 2nd it hit 10psi and started hazing the 325's. Drove it to work and got stuck in the building because of rain. Couldn't drive it home, so no playing tonight. My boss asked me if I have brain damage for driving my car with a chance of rain. He said he was going to write me up, it is in the hand book, no driving Buicks in the rain.

Great job. Get ahold of Holly to get Cal down there for some dyno tunning. That would be the best way to finish off a awesome project. I did, and couldn't be any happier.
