Will the trans oil cooler lines for a 2004R work for a 200C?

Since I'm getting the transmission done I'd like to replace the lines while it's out. Can only find the ones for a 2004R though. Will they work for a NA Regal w/200C trans?

Thanks.

the lines for the 200-r4 w/ turbo dont bolt into the radiator like the NA cars do , they stop before they get to rad and then there are two short lines and couplers to get to the cooler fittings which on the turbo are on the grille side of the radiator

also the NA v6 differs in that it has a narrower radiator than most other engines so with a set meant for v8 you will need to do a little bending
that said these should work

i would think the Gbodyparts.com should be able to come up with something for you

Thanks for that info, I was just on the phone w/inlinetube.com and while the catalog states 2pc sets he said they actually are 4pc sets. Now I know why.
While checking the status of an existing order today I saw GBbodyParts has the lines for the 2004r.

The lines on the link you posted are 4pc as well. Somebody has got to have them.

From the same company that makes the one's you posted I found these in stainless or these in plain steel. They are for a Chevy TH200 though

Thanks again man for the help. I called Right Stuff up today and spoke with one of their technical specialist. He couldn't confirm they sell anything for my application.
But he's only going off of the catalog, didn't seem to know much about different transmissions and engines.

I'm going to call the shop up Monday who's going to do the work and ask him which one of these I should order. He should know since he's been working on transmissions since before the '80s.

R U from Raceway Park NJ? Growing up on Staten Island NY back in the 70's and 80's this time of year I used to hear the ads for upcoming races at Raceway Park, English Town NJ. They were so catchy it's still in my mind.

I don't have a F-Body Radiator but I replaced the stock one years ago. One made for my car though.

That sig of your rocks.

Sorry I didn't see your other post. The car is a '85 Regal Coupe, 3.8L 231 cid V6, NA. For intents and purposes the radiator is a stock replacement. May be a 3 core though but it's been so long ago when I replaced it I can't remember.

Okay, I spoke the guy who is going to do the rebuild. He said the lines need to be an exact match (bends and all). Didn't know what else would fit. When they need to replace lines they either get them from the dealership or if not available bend new lines out of copper, which I don't want.

According to RockAuto both AC Delco and Dorman list the same fitting for either the 3-sp or 4-sp transmissions on our cars.

DORMAN Part # 800755
FITTING,TRANS FLUID CLR PIPE w/3-SPD AUTO TRANS(MV9)
FITTING,TRANS FLUID CLR PIPE w/4-SPD AUTO TRANS(MW9)

ACDELCO Part # 8637742
Trans. code THM200C/MV9;Trans Fluid Cooler Pipe Fitting To Case; 5/16 In.
Trans. code THM200-4R; Trans Fluid Cooler Pipe Fitting To Case; 5/16 In.

So at least I know the lines are the same diameter and the connections on the transmission and radiator are the same as well.

According to the FSM the lines for Engine Code LC2 VIN Y (GN) is as stated above and won't work but Engine Code LV2 VIN Y (Regal Limited) is similar to my LD5 VIN A.
But reading over here the Regal Limited came with a 5.0L 307 V8 Engine w/a 4 BBL Carb. What Transmission was installed in that car?

Anywho, it seems now if I can find lines for a Regal Limited 85-86 they should work.

Why would you need the lines to have the exact bends and such? Did he elaborate? I can see where it might be an easier install but you aren't assembling a concourse car, are you?

Plenty of places sell tubing that can be bent and flared to your car. Just a little more fabbing and flaring to get it in. I've never seen copper used but I guess it could, maybe I'm just not paying attention.

What happened to the original lines? Could they be used as a pattern when bending up some need ones?

No, I called to ask him if he had come across lines that would work for me if the right ones weren't available. His response was as I posted, lines should be matched to the original lines so to have the right bends.
Call me a stickler for details. No it isn't a concourse car but it is mine and I don't like hacks. I see no reason for me to either spend my time doing it or paying someone else to if things can't be done properly. Which in my mind means the way it left the factory.

That said, in the early '90's when I brought the car I took it to a repair shop in the town I was going to school at the time for some minor transmission work. He cut the original lines not too far back from the Radiator and ran copper back to the transmission.

Now I'm doing the front suspension, this time the upper control arms and after doing the DS and ready to do the PS and guess what, I have a damn copper cooling line were it's not supposed to be. It's almost right up against the frame bolts for the pivot shaft making getting a wrench on the nuts almost impossible, turning the nut once said wrench is on there is going to be yet another matter.

That was back in '95 or '96 when had he bothered to even call me I could've gotten new lines from GM.

No Sir, I replaced all my Brake Lines last summer with Stainless Steel Pre-Bent from ClassicTube and will replace the fuel lines the same way.

There's more than one way to skin a cat and this here cat is going to get skinned. ;)

if it's just a standard gbody radiator you can use the same lines. it's nothing different.

Thanks man, I'm gonna go for it as it looks like my best shot. I wanted SS but will get plain steel so if they need to do some "tweaking" it'll be easier.
