What's going on here???

My buddy and I installed a new orange stripe converter on his stock tranny over the weekend. We filled the new converter up with fluid and made sure it went on the shaft completely. The tranny was put back up, he started the motor and put the gear selector in drive only to have nothing happen. Litterly, there was no gear engagement in any position??? He ran the car for about 20 seconds and shut it down when after this time he could not get the car to move. Fluid level is fine, no leaks, a bolts are in place, nothing else was messed with. What might be going on here?

Are you sure this wasn't a 30 spline converter? If it was, it won't drive the input shaft.

pull a cooler line and crank the engine.if no oil shoots out you have broken the pumpor forgot the convertor bolts.if oil shoots out the turbine may be a 30 spline turbine convertor.
