Surgery, this time, really kicked my ass. Dad is not doing well either so that adds to my concerns. They had to remove his stomach due to cancer and he is really struggling with it. I KNOW age and health are chasing all of us as I say this with a smirk, as I have good days and bad days. I am always available for consultation, as I love and miss all you guys. In fact, I am thinking of doing nothing but consultation 24/7.
Just total consultation, not trying to sell anybody anything but tech support just a 24/7 or hourly tech line so anybody at anytime can get help. This way I can still help out, and anybody working on their stuff would have a person to talk to whenever they are working on their stuff and billed through paypal or other. What do you guys think of this? Basically you would be paying for my knowledge, helping my family out and have access when you needed it AND would you and others support it? Would like some feedback and/or opinions....Lord knows I have given for years and now I need help.
I apologize for the MIA for awhile but I needed to get my family and life together. I send love and prayers to all who have kept in touch and those who even think about my family and health.
To those, I THANK YOU ALL!!!
I can tell you all who work 15-16 hrs a day...7 days a week...It will catch up with you in the end. I am living proof! We need a time machine. LOL
Health and family forces the next statement. I am selling everything I have Buick wise with the exception of my WE4 #439 and GNX #188. (Right price and I might sell the GNX)
Kenny, is for sale, the 87 Black T type NOT a WE4, drag car best run of 10.66 and now has a brand new motor Dad and I did 5 years ago. Built by Vasselnook with Kenne Bell Valvetrain and Vasselnook heads.4.1 knifeedge crank as well. JE piston and 62 turbo. My trans with brake. Lots more in this car. My 86 moonroof parts car is also on the block. Nose is good and an 83,000 mile motor all original and all there. And to the right person I may unload all my tranny stuff. I say this with the heaviest heart I have ever had in my life. But I have my girls and family to think about. No offense, but they are worth more to me than ANY Buick and/or transmission. Email me or call to inquire but please be serious and no tirekickers. Just don't have time.

Please get back to me with feedback on my Tech idea. I still can do trannys but slow and not under a time constraint. However getting stronger every day.....
Love you all...
Thanks again

To expand on the tech thing, we might be able to do it by computer as well but on phone and tablet or computer for pictures and tech is best. Would love to get your guys ideas on this. I would be able to ALWAYS be there vs taking one of our specialists tranny builders off his bench, which in todays world, could cost them dearly. Also at night which after a day in their shop, they are beat and would like to be with their families. Trying to put together something where I am involved and helping people again. That is where my heart is, helping people.

Comon guys feedback on this idea please.....

Bruce, good to see you post. You did a trans for me in 2003.

Not sure on the tech line idea. For some it may be great while others can find the info they need on the board. Some are just less apt or patient to try and search or research on their own and these folks would be good potential customers for your service.

Have you thought about compiling any printed resources?

I was thinking that printed doesn't address any or all problems troubleshooting or weird things that can happen. Also if your car is at another shop unfamiliar with our cars and this trans might be of some LIVE assistance.
Keep them coming please and thanks for your input. Do you see where I was going with this?

Glad to see you still kicking Bruce, and sorry about your dad. A tech line might be a good idea, but how about a book or video showing some of the tips, tricks, and issues that may happen with the 2004R tranny? If you were closer I'd be doing my best to try and get you to teach me how to build my own for what I hope to be a record run for a B4black car.:D We've made it into the 11's so far and I'm hoping for 10's with all the little mods and tricks I've done, and no NOS involved.

What about .......and please don't get out the hanging noose (SP?) on me.....but the Mmmm..... man having trouble saying this....MMMonte carslos or the Hurst Olds (These I like) and conversions? I have done more conversions on pick up trucks as I have cars. I KNOW we key on our Buicks but other, we will call vehicles, use them as well. I am also aware our board is the leader, no doubt but there are other avenues that use our trans as well. Am I wrong for going there? WHY do I feel I am about to get stoned and I do not mean with a bong? :wideyed:LMAO!

Quite a few cars used the 2004R Bruce, not just the G body platform. How about the impala SS's? There are also a bunch of hybreds or hot rods that convert to them. If you do a service that helps those that're DIY guys like me as well as instructions then you'd be ahead of the game.;)

Hi Bruce, We don't know each other personally, but as a fellow Christian, I would like to let you know I will be praying for you and your family's health and finances. Times being what they are w/the clowns in control of the government. Miracles are needed!
I agree w/stageII's idea of putting your knowledge to "print", not to take away from the trans guys here on the board that are trying to make a living in the trans business. But you can stress the pro's of using the 200-r4's, etc. w/more of the common knowledge of strengthening them and directing the readers to the sources for parts to full race transmissions. Thus increasing the revenue of the supporting board members as well as your family. There are millions of transmissions out there. Thoughts?

Very good insight and thank you for the prayers. Lord knows they are needed. Definitely considered.....The thing I have found is live is more personal and every person has different odd issues and questions that cannot all be printed. Every one seems to be just a little different and if the reader has trouble comprehending something, they can address that through my mind . In other words any and all questions could be asked and answered without the need for more emails and waits for responses. The advantage of being 1 on1 and live. Whatcha think?
Thanks for replying as well.

The idea was inclusive to your intensions and would broaden your income base. You have had a sizeable number of hits already and few responses, which tells me your not going to get enough support for your idea. Where a manual may help get you quickly established in the other g-body forums and better still would be to build a following amongst the back yard mechanics that don't have an affiliation w/trans people.
You can sell it as an "automatic trans for street and hot rodders" or something of that nature.

I think the print idea is the best. This will give you the other G body market and even try and sell it through Summit. ;)I had a guy years ago sell a Book Titled how to run 11 second ets. No Nos or cool guy parts in a Camaro or a G body. It was the best 27 page book I ever bought back then. If it was me I would only do the Performance side of the trans and the tweeks needed to make them live. The assembly side has been covered in many formats and manuals. I would be the first to send my paypal.:)

Hi Bruce, good to hear from you. I got into the 200-R4's late as I have mainly done them as retrofits into older cars. I followed your stuff for years and had hopes that someday I could have or afford that PTS Extreme. Family, kids, and the job downturn put all that on hold. Some shops won't touch these just because you can't get stuff for them easily. I mean no disrespect with your idea of tech support. I am sure it would be useful and set up an hourly rate via Paypal or something for those persons. I am a print guy. I like stuff I can reference back and read 100times and read it again until the pages are worn.

^^^^ I am a print guy for the same reasons. Bruce I think the article you wrote for us on here years ago expanded and put more details in and of course pictures(old guys like looking at the pics) and put some pics of your past customer rides. Keep it short and direct.

I like the idea of talking to someone.
It helps to talk to someone while doing tranny work. I have pulled a few and worked on a few and Everytime I needed guidence on the phone or a buddy to show me what to do. I just installed my 9.5 converter and needed a refresher on how many fingers behind the converter to know if its all the way in. Simple, but it works. When I installed my tranny brake, I didnt know to grind the valve that much:nailbiting:, so it does help tremendously. Im sure you will get a lot of quick calls on stuff, but when its time for the actual tricks inside the tranny, thats when you will see that your passing on some good knowlege.
Im for it.

Hi Bruce, are you offering this service? Seems like with enough exposure it might take off.

Hi Bruce prayers to you and your family hope you and your dad become healthy quickly.I think the book idea is best.Just like those holley carb books.I Would definetly buy your book. The 2004R's require knowledge and skill to get them right.Good luck and God Bless

I like the idea as I have a stock BRF trans with 98k miles D5 converter that I'd like to refresh with hardened parts for 11's 1/4 mile. I recently DIY shift kit but now I am unsure if whether I did it properly or not...springs/servo etc...

Anyone that has questions post em up. There are plenty of guys here who answer and give good solid solutions to problems.
I hope Bruce is well.
