I have an external wastegate. The car cannot make more than 19lbs of boost. It used to creep to 21 lbs, but now it will not. I tightened the bolt rod 4 full turns so far with no increase in final boost pressure.
I also have a valve that comes off the turbo housing, that backed all the way out does not increase any more boost. Its like the diaphrame is junk or something. The wastegate is about 10 years old.
So I think my wastegate is shot. I have a 3 bolt turbo 67MM. What wastegate do I go get to make sure I can handle upgrading to a 70 turbo if I ever do.
I want to run 10.90's, so I want to buy the wastegate once that will do the trick.
