Guys,
Volt light came on last night I checked scanmaster voltage at idle was 11.6 - 12.0.

Took battery to Autozone had it charged and tested; batery tested good.
Installed battery checked voltage on scanmaster 12.0-12.2, started car voltage at idle 11.6-12.0. Volt light comes on and stays on
Car has Reds Voltbooster been on there for 3 years. (never caused problem)
Is this this the symptom of a bad alternator or wiing issue.
Please advise on troubleshooting method

Alternator, maybe. Should drop below 12 volts a little briefly from starting, & then start charging?

had the same problem, check the single wire connector that plugs into the alt, if it is broke it will cause those symtoms.

On certain cars, volt boosters will eat up your voltage regulator.
I would make sure the brown single wire is properly seated on the back side of the alternator, if it is, then your alt isnt charging.
Check all your connections if still low voltage, take the alternator in for a test.

Thanks for the replys

Guys,
Thanks for the replys
the alternator wire is plugged in and is not damaged
I will have the alternator checked.
Do you guys recommend keeping the voltage booster?

Sounds like a diode in the regulator is bad. You'll need another alternator.
