Hi all, Has anyone tried one as a cheap front mount? I have seen them go for really cheap on e bay and this weekend found two in really good shape at the bone yard. Thanks for any replies

There was some discusion on this awhile back, try doing a search.

In brief the end tanks are plastic, overall pretty light construction, they will never be able to take the boost pressure from a real car.

Waste of time and money. The I/C might be cheap but the plumbing will not be and will end up as a throwaway. You might consider the Isuzu NPR but only the "Big" one which is painted black. There are 2 other smaller NPR I/Cs that are not painted or coated. I got up to about 400rwhp with the big NPR before I got serious pressure drop.

As a FMIC, it might be more efficient at cooling, but HP = Flow. When considering an OEM I/C, you need to ask yourself how much HP was it supporting from the factory and how much headroom did the factory design in. Knowing most EOMs, not much. The exception to this are turbo diesel I/Cs.
