Upgraded Axles?

Maybe a dumb question but what is the easiest way to tell if my axles are stock or have been upgraded?

look at the ends under center cap stock is rough cast

I have since then taken the axels back out, modified the housing ends and cut the "buttons" off to put C-clip eliminators on.
