Unplugged cam sensor and car died... Is that supposed to happen?

I think it should go into a limp mode but still run-are you sure it's installed right?

If it does not run when un-plugged, the 3 most common problems are:

1. Bad cap.

2. It is not set properly.

3. The rotor has sheared its tab, and has moved out of position.

Ok, thanks, I'll dig farther into it. Caspers sells a new cap, RJC sells a tab fix, and the car has ran fine for years without me ever touching the sensor, so I'm leaning towards the two options above
