Turbo

A lock-up converter always helped our cars back in the day. One of our cars is an 87 T Type with the stock motor, stock turbo, stock intercooler, and stock injectors. It runs on Julio's alky kit at about 23#'s boost. Mod include a 3" downpipe into the GS club's dual stainless exhaust. Car has 23,000 miles and ran 11.8 at 114 at Bowling Green. We lock it at the beginning of second gear throughout the run and yes it sounds like it is pulling the motor down and it is right into the torque curve so don't be fooled by the sound. A 62 mm turbo sounds like a good turbo but consider the smaller 63 A/R ratio turbine as the 82 A/R ratio turbine will kill the 60'. Also, my experiance with Art Carr converters (non-lock-up) has been unvavorable with up to 17% slippage and I have 3 of them. I love my current PTC non-lock-up converter currently on my GN listed in my signature.
