Sent a TE-44 to precision for a rebuild!They called said 440$ for a rebuild,I blew a headgasket ran dirty oil thew it.Said OK what else could i say?Iasked for a t-shirt they said it would cost 10$???
Iwas shocked that the turbo was so bad!!!!The car went 12.11 @113 18pounds boost the way it is before i sent this in for rebuild!Iguess I'll never buy a used turbo. Ibought this turbo new
Ya it's a tough lesson to learn. I spun a bearing on a new engine at 49 miles,luckily I have a big spin on filter pre-turbo.
Rebuild on a ballbearing 70 would not have been pretty.
Invest in a pre-turbo filter...:smile:
