Tree falls across property line, who's responsible for any damage?

If the dude did work on his property, he does not have a right to file a labor lien against your property. He did no improvements to it. When or if he files it send him a registered letter asking him to remove his lien or you will file a slander of title suit against him. At least that's how it works in MI.
I did find some information about some laws passed here back in 2005 to protect against fraudulent liens and those filed with no basis. I will have the right to counter sue and file liens against him for my time and attorys fees, not to mention I can request that the Attorney General file crimal charges against him too.
And if that gets nowhere and its that easy to file a lien against someones property here, this guy owns 12 different properties in my county that I could just go file against every one of them :D
