Hi Guys,

I was checking my transmission oil level today and noticed that the transmission filler tube wobbles and seems like it is loose. Is this normal? Is it connected to a rubber hose or somthing near the bottom explaining side to side play? Let me know...

It shouldn't wobble, and there's no rubber hose at the bottom of the tube. Normally, there is a tab welded at about mid-lenght of the tube which bolts to one of the bellhousing bolts to secure the tube...maybe it broke off from vibration, or could it be rusted and the tab broke off, or simply missing...or the bolt itself is missing?

Claude.

Mine has a rubber grommet at the bottom. Removed it today and sent the tube off to get powder coated.

Sounds to me that your top bellhousing bolt that bolts threw the mounting ear on your dip stick tube is loose or gone? The all have a rubber gromment on the bottom where they go into the trans.
