Transmission doesn't Sound Right

I had my Transmission rebuilt about 3-4 years ago. my car has been sitting for about 6 months. I have driven it abou 6 hundred miles since then. So, my RPMs are really high, and my MPG really sucks. Oh, when I had it rebuilt I put in a 2800 stall converter from Poston and one of their kits (I can't remember the specs on the kit). I love to hate this car!

You need to elaborate on this. Is it not shifting into o/d, or are all the shifts delayed and at high rpms?

its not shifting 'till the RPMs are higher, like around 4000. I went to have it the emissions tested today and it was almost impossible for their comuter to sync the RPMs. The computer kept loosing contact, but when it did show on their screen, the computer and my tach were nothing alike.

Your transmission shifts to high?Check your tv cable ajustment first.

go to gnttype.org and follow the instructions for resetting your TV cable.

If the TV cable adjustment doesn't help, perhaps the governor tossed it's spring out. Have you been able to determine if the converter clutch is operating?
