Trans out to find aftermarket torque converter. What kind?

Took the engine and trans out of the car to find that it has an aftermarket torque converter.

This converter is white and was measured out to be a 12". The writing on one side seems to say 2004r 2800 stall. The other writing I cant exactly make out. It looks like it says C.P.P. but not exactly sure. Also around the edge, there is the number '5' engraved all the way around the converter. Does anyone have any clue what kind this could be?

Absolutely, get in touch with member 'Dusty Bradford' for a PTC Converter.
A 9.5" or 10" PTC Converter will be much more efficient than a restalled 12" D5 Converter.
A 12" TC with a stall rating that high will have a high Slip % up top. :(

The question is what are your goals, if you are just looking for a quicker than stock street car with a small turbo that converter should be fine...if you want to get serious about going fast you will end up needing a better converter.

A restalled 12" D5 is what I consider to be a 2200 stall. It's hard to get them to stall higher than that. A jump to a 10" converter will get you an extra 600 rpm so spool-up will be much easier. Your needs will depend on what your looking to accomplish. A TA-49 street driver will work well with a restalled D5. Something larger looking for quick spool will benefit from a 9.5 or 10" 2800 stall.
