Throttle Cable Stretched?

My throttle cable has about 1/2" between the plastic piece with the spring and the metal stop made to the end of the cable when its at rest. Is this a normal gap? Just curious about this, wanna make sure I'm getting full throttle. with the key on, engine off, the tps will go to about 4.1 to 4.3 ish with the pedal on the floor. I haven't tried to have anyone hold the pedal all the way down, while I see if the butterfly will move any further yet. Just seems like a lot of slop in the gas pedal.

1/2" sounds about right altho I havent seen my engine in 6 months. If there is slop put a zip tie or tie wrap on the cable behind the gas pedal to take up a small amount of slack. Just look at the back of the gas pedal & you will see what I mean. The smallest zip tie takes up maybe 1/8" of slop. If more than that is needed get a new one.
