The Mexicans make a better IAC than the Chinese?

So my GN started idling funny. In open loop it loped along at 300-400 RPM. In closed loop it idled between 1500 and 2100 RPM. Very odd. I saw that FAST had taken the target IAC down to 5 at idle, which isn't right, so I pulled the new Autozone IAC out. It had fallen apart inside the IAC boss. It was manufactured in China.

As fate would have it, I had a new Mexican-made Delco IAC on the shelf. Problem solved. Will this one last longer?

Glad it was an easy fix tho.

The Mexican ones "should" be made from the same machinery as the originals that were made in CT. :)

Unless of course they sent the machinery to China in the past 4 years, I hadn't heard about that but I'm out of the loop now. ;)

The original IACV is one of the more robust parts on our cars especially compared to the newer all plastic ones.

Maybe not as fast, but much better made and passed every performance test with flying colors back in the day.

It's often misunderstood so it gets abused and changed out for no reason a lot. :p

You should be good for 20 years with the Mexican one.
