The 86 is about to breath life again! Thanks to Jim, Ed and Jim

That is one of the cleanest, and best looking engines yet. What colors did you use for powerder coat?

Thanks for the compliments. For the gray it's a sterling silver. Everything black is just glossy black. The up pipe, turbo shield, headers, and cross over are all ceramic coated along with all the nuts and bolts for them. I even had the intake nuts and bolts powder coated glossy black along with the valve cover nuts and bolts. I like to do things once! :D My 87 GN I did all this too years ago and it still looks like it was done yesterday.

The nice part about using powder coat on everything is when I get the car out for spring every year I just take some detail spray, mist down the engine, and wipe it down and it looks new again!

Looks awesome Jim. Way to pay attention to all the fine details. Makes all that hard work well worth while. You should be proud of yourself ;) Dave

Thanks, I like the silver. One little, subtle thing I would have added is to powercoat the pipe bands black. Im not really sure what they are called, but you put them on the pipe and tighten them with a screw driver. Mental block what are they called?!

Thanks Dave! Hopefully you can see it someday! I have some nice fresh GN rims for it with a set of raised white letter Eagle GT's on them! I can't wait to see how the car handles on 14 year old tires! :D

The hose clamps? Good idea I might have to coat some of them and see how they come out and look.

Looks great i just hope you did not leave the wrench on the fuel rail after you put it in the car  or the extra chain hook by the knock sensor . That thing is gonna win you a case full of trophys good job Jim, Jim and Ed you guys have a great eye to detail

The wrench was to tighten the extra lift bracket to put the motor in

Thanks guys! Lots of hours and running around to get to that point. Was pretty much a 3 month project. Hopefully you guys can see it in person at one of these Buick events!

Jim,
Looks like the white lettering on the caps of the coolant overflow resevoir, windshield washer tank, and the power steering resevoir, are wearing off. I don't know how you could drive that car around in that state  Dave
