Will applying 12v to the TCC solenoid actuate it? Will reversing polarity blow it?

How is that for two very straightforward questions?

:)

#1 = Yes
#2 = Yes, depends on how long it's reversed before Coil is burned.

Oops - I heard a small tick sound when I reversed the polarity (not for long tho')

On other hand nothing happened when I applied 12v. Didn't I read somewhere you needed to apply copmpressed air and 12v?

When applying 12v to the solenoid you should hear a click.

compressed air? Where would one apply it?

Are you trying to trouble shoot a no lock up situation? Look at the fuse on the block, top right hand corner. It says "ecm/sol". If that's not it, then start tracing wires, testing the brake switch, etc.
