Tall(er) ball joints, set up Q's

While I have the frame off the car, I'm going to perform a few budget upgrades. I'm looking for some specific set up numbers before I invest in upper balljoints.

I will be using +.500" taller lower ball joints. I may or may not lower the ride height until I can view the car when It's put back together.

In regards to upper ball joints, which added height seemed to produce the best geometry with OEM upper control arms, +.500 or 1.00"?

How difficult was it to adjust the caster/camber, and what was the most caster able to be gained?

I'm not going crazy on suspension upgrades, just improving some on a budget.

Ive been looking around the netz and cant seem to find the answers, yet.
