when i ran the msd window switch to the green connector with the two white wires, the tach in the dash drops to one bar and stays there till i switch the switch back off.

Similar Problem

I have a similar problem... no aftermarket tach (working on the oil guage and water temp guage as we speak) - but my stock tach just has one bar lit and doesn't budge.

Look for the connector that is green with 2 white wires going to it. Will be located just behind the rear of the alternator. Sometimes you have to dig for it. See if it is plugged into a wire with a black connector. If so unplug the two wires. This will revive your tach if these two wires are plugged together. Alot of people see these unplugged and think they belong plugged in. The black wire is for your fuel pump relay. Check it out and let me know.
