One of the bolt holes for mounting the sway bar "U" bracket
is stripped. Does anyone know the thread size, and would using a "Heli-Coil" repair kit be strong enough?

Thanks,
Paul

You could try to tap it for the next larger size bolt (or use an allen headed cap screw for additional room)

The thread is M10 x 1.5. There is not enough material for a heli-coil. I used what is refered to as a nut-sert or well-nut to repair mine. You need a specialized tool to install these. You might want to search out for a shop that can do this instead of investing in a tool that you may only need to use once. Eric Fisher

I think your right about there being not enough metal for the heli-coil. But stupid me already bought the tool, inserts, and a drill bit.
Mabey I will have a need for it in the next 20 years or so.

I'll just have the shop fix it when they do my alky kit install. Yeah, I know, I'm lazy.
