Storage of Spare Heads?

I store mine on their sides (on the exhaust ports) This way you don't scratch up the most important mating surfaces. I also spray lots of WD-40 inside the ports on the bottoms so they dont rust. Put them on some old cardboard and throw a rag over them to keep the dust off and your done. 
I was once told the proper way to store heads is on the end, don't know if there is any truth to it, but I have never had any problems storing heads this way. And yes, use plenty of lube to prevent corrosion. I personally use LPS 3 which is an aircraft corrosion preventative that I get from work. AV8 is another one based on linseed oil which works pretty good.
