Stock Crossover pipe fix???

I did a search and can't find much info on this. I took my headers off to weld DS and coat them. I noticed that the stock crossover pipe is necked down on the DS. Has anyone taken a stock Crossover pipe and replaced that section with a piece of 2 1/4 to match the rest of the crossover?

FWIW, I currently have stock motor with PT-61, 3" THDP, 65#inj, FMIC, Alcy inj., Translator Pro. I will be putting ported stock heads on and comp 212 cam soon.

Just wondering if it would be worth the work of replacing that section.

Couple of vendors have the crossunder pipe, without the necked down area. ATR is not easy to find these days, but Poston has one, with ceramic coating, for about $90. Probably other vendors, too. So it has been done, I have no idea how much it helps.
