Hi i have a problem with my gn.
i shorted my ign module and coil pack so i replaced them and now the engine starts but dies after 2 sec.
i have searched the forum i found posts about checking the ccci bypass and the est signal.

est signal gives .07v ign on
bypass is 0v ign on.....its suposed to be 4,56v I've read. is my ecm bad? or is it my cheap ebay ign module?

no codes on scan master
sorry for my bad english /Peter

Many had claimed anything other then board vendors replacement parts especially ignition components is the way to go. Even if you were to get ignition parts from your local Auto Part Stores, many had returned them due to a high failure rate.
I got both Ignition module and coil from Highway Stars

If for some reason you feel lucky and found a good Ignition set, then look into this PDF file to start troubleshooting your system.

Had to get a new ignition module and coil pack a few years ago, bought the iginition module from nos4gn I believe. Replaced that first, then got an Accel coil pack from autozone...started it up and died a few seconds later. Purchased an AC Delco, started right up and still using it on the car today. You could just have a faulty ignition module/coil pack. Hopefully it's that simple of a fix...!

Thanks for the answers.

It starts and runs but very bad with out the maf connected.

with the maf connected it runs good for 2-3 sec then it starts to misfire and dies.

it sounds like the MAF is bad
is maf original?
How many mileage on the maf?
Do you know anyone who has a good maf you can borrow?
Maybe it's time to get an LS1 (3.5"), or LT1 (3.0") maf sensor, and also you will need a maf translator

original maf 72k miles.
i forgot to mention that i live in sweden....i have more fingers on my hands then there is gn´s in sweden.

car ran good until i messed with the ign module and shorted it.
also I've heard that idle is not that bad with the maf disconnected.

This may or may not be part of your problem, but you might want to remove, clean, re-install and tighten all of the ground wires, especially the multi-wires bolted in back of the passenger head.

You could also bring back the ignition module and coil to the auto store, claiming it may be defect, and see if they give you a replacement.

Check your spark plug wires if they are correctly installed (follow the PDF print), and recheck the installation connection for the ignition module wiring as well.
