Spun Rod Bearing-

I was intending to rebuild the mill, but not under these circumstances :( ... Pretty sure the "clank of death" is a spun rod bearing, (-fires on all 6, no smoke, valve-train looks solid, god awful racket from block)

So the old TR goes in the driveway until the funds are rounded up.

Is one of these Turbo cranks salvagable/ millable after such an event? I'm hoping it is given their scarcity.

Wish me luck and not too much low end damage.

HI,
I just had this problem also, my engine had spun two:eek: rod bearings due to the fuel pump diaphram cracking and leaking gas into the oil. My engine was knocking really bad and the crank was still able to be turned (.20). Had my engine rebuilt by Bob stanley at Triad motor exchange (Greensboro,NC) he is familar with these engines.

This is common on these motors. When you get it done have the crank chamfered and the block oil feeds to the main bearings drilled out to 3/8". that will help prevent that from happening in the future.
