Smoke in my car???

I turned the defrosters on last night and the car filled up with smoke.Do you think it is the heater core?If it is are they alot of $$ should I get GM or not??THANK YOU

i had a heater core spring a leak in my old vega and it didn't fill up with smoke, just leak antifreeze all over the nice origional carpet mad: ) and make the windows fog up, i had to drive with my head out the window on a cold night, not fun. i don't know what it would be, but its probably not the heater core, at least not a leak thats causting the problem.

White smoke? If it is then its your heater core. KEEP THE HEAT OFF until you fix it, or your carpet will get saturated with anti-freeze. The heater core is about $20 from your local parts store. Not sure how much a GM core would be.

and antifreeze on your carpet is a really really bad thing, the smell never came out, but the color on the carpet did

Bypass the heater core to keep the coolent out of it to see if it is the problem.
