sleeve an s1 block

cyl. wall is .082

Didnt work for me with a 3.985 bore:mad:
The sleeve is to thin even if you dont break into the water:biggrin: Mine just craked again becuase there was not enough of the casting left to support it:biggrin:

You may have to fill the block not good for a street car.Should do fine for a race car with the hard block and a sleeve.Good Luck,AL.

You didn't say if this was a 4.1 or 3.8 S1 block or the current bore size.

Just a thought,

If it is a 4.1, You could take the bores out to 4.000" (even if that breaks into water) and install 6 sleeves. If you go to a 3.800 bore you would have .200" thickness in the sleeves.

The smaller bores limit breathing somewhat by shrouding the valves, but guys like John Gallina, Donnie Wang (and others) have made big horsepower on small bore engines. You can always eyebrow the bores at the top for big valves.
