I continue to find more curiosities with my Basket Case GN.

While poking around with some wiring replacement I found a new wrinkle. The vapor cannister which sits behind the driver side headlight has two vacuum lines from the top. I found the one that leads to the fuel tank is in place and connected, however the previous owner had disconnected the line to the Vacuum Connector Block at the valve.

I'm hoping this will explain why I had to get a waiver on my emmmisions test :( when I licensed it and why from time to time the engine will die when decelerating.:( :(

The reason for the emmisions failure was the amount of unburned gas fumes in the emmision.

I think you should re-connect the cannister, but not for the reasons cited.

Seems unlikely to cause the stalling. And the vapor cannister should have nothing to do with a rich condition. The cannister's purpose is to avoid venting fuel from the tank into the atmosphere. SOME kind of vent is need on the tank. As the fuel level falls, air has to enter the tank to make up the difference.
