Hey guy's thanks for all your help with the fuel system questions. I got the car to Tucson from Austin after a short 15 hr drive...;) .averaged about 23 mpg on the freeway.

I got back to town and now i want to fix a couple issues. The first issue is that the car smokes bad. My dad refered to it as a mosquito killer. It is burning oil. I'm not sure whether it is turbo seals maybe, or blow by. with car running i felt over the oil filler tube and there wasn't any weird pressure changes. is this an accurate test?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

John

If it's the compressor side of the turbo there would be oil in the IC and uppipe. If it's the exhaust side of the turbo there will be oil in the down pipe. You can even pull the down pipe back with the engine running to check for oil. Check the pcv vacuum hose and th vacuum block at the top of the throttlebody for oil.
