Setting TV cable

I broke my old TV cable and got a new GM piece. The weird thing is, this cable will not automatically adjust itself. So I'm gonna set the cable w/ a pressure gauge.

How do I go about doign this? From what I've read, I install the gauge in the pressure port but what procedure do I go about adjusting it? Again, this a new stock GM piece.

Just hold the throttle wide open & pull the cable back tight & you'll have max TV @ WOT just the way it should be.

I never use the auto adj method.

77, you mean press the release tab and pull the inner black portion towards the front of the car, then hold the throttle WOT and slide the black inner portion towards the rear of the car till the cable is tight? Or the black portion is tight?

Pull the black part to the rear till the cable is tight @ WOT, release the tab. Then verify that @ WOT the cable is tight & won't pull out any farther.
