scantool and maf questions

Is there a scantool for the 85 computer, and if so where could I possibly get one. Also, can the lt1 maf sensors with a trasnlator be used with an 85 computer? And will an extender chip work in an 85 or do I have to have the 86/7 ecmfor that? Thanks!

Turbo Link will work with the the 85 ecm. It will have a limited data stream.

Sometimes you can pick them up used on the board.
It will also work with the 87 ecm when you upgrade.
The LT1 maf and translator will require the 87 ecm upgrade to use.

You could get a OTC 2000 or 4000 scan tool it works with your 85 ecm and shows you everything you need. Its just a show the data at a slower rate and does not data log. Its the tool the auto shops use to use in the day or they still might. Do a search on the board and on ebay for ones for sale. Just make sure you have the cig. lighter adapter, the unit, cable hook up to GM cars, GM cartridge. They are cheap too!!$25 to $65 -Nick.
