s10 brake cylinder ?'s

I am doing the swap this weekend.

Anything else I need besides the cylinders (18012305), fluid and bleeder?

TIA!

also, what is the cheapest place to get them?

I think gmpartsdirect.com has them for $35 ea + $12 for shipping...

Have you checked partsamerica.com?

Are you doing just the HD WCs (& not also the "big" shoes)?

Hola.

No I haven't. I have heard that the aftermarket parts arent as good as the genuine GM's.

I just got new shoes, so I am going to stick with them.

Thanks.

Larger rear brake cylinders (New):

GM 18012305
EIS 104432
Bendix #WC37644T

Brake, Speed Bleeders :

(Russell)
front 3958 Summit
rear 3952
=========================================

We went with the Bendix units, and also did not use the "big/long" shoes. :)

WORKING GOOD!

Yup!

"Introduction:

In order to hold more boost on the line, this installation of larger brake cylinders can really help. This is a relatively straight forward operation consisting of installing

the new 7/8" Bendix wheel cylinders (#WC37644T)

in place of the stock ones. Everything is a direct replacement and the only tough part consists of removing and installing the round clips that hold the cylinders to the backing plates. "

So you stayed with the stock sized brake shoes? Did the larger wheel cylinders mess up the brake's bias for locking up at speed?

Make sure you get the brake GM brake tool to remove the clips that hold the cylinders on the backing plate its about 10 bucks but worth the money, you might want to grab some extra brake line also or at least leave enought time to run out to the parts store to pick one up if you can't get the fittings off and end up twisting the brake line like I did. I bought two sets of brake shoe and used the large shoes for both sides of the drum.

Excellent advice! :)

Am I the only one having a hard time locating these 7/8" cylinders?

All the local stores are confused or they just don't have them...

The swap will help build boost . But, be careful of the back brakes locking up on a street car with those bigger cyl. Might want to get a proportioning valve also.
