Ring and pinion set 3.42

Since it seems I can't find someone selling a set of 3.42 gears for 30 spline axles...can someone post a link that would be a good place to purchase from....

The gear won't have anything to do with the spline count on the carrier. You need a 3.42 matched gear set for a GM 8.5" car rear. There are some 8.5" truck gears but they won't fit your carrier.

Are you trying to change to a different carrier so you can go to a higher spline count?

Possibly....it has moser 30 spline axles now with a spool just don't know how far it will take me....

Then all you need is the gears for it, but if you drive it on the street a spool will squeel the tires as it goes around corners and give you issues in wet weather.

Yes it has a spool already...I just need the gear set....I don't drive the car in the rain....and yes it does squeal a little but not much...should I just order a set of Dana ring and pinion set or what brand....

Check the for sale section or post a want add. Richmond gear is a fairly good company as well as Dana.

jeez.. the 8.5 is probably the second most common rear axle in North America, only surpassed by the Ford 9".. everyone makes 3.42 gears for them..
