How do you remove the valves and valve springs, ive got a set of heads laying around that i want to clean up. can someone help me out? post a link or just explain? your help is appreciated.
Or, I have seen some guys tap all the tops of the valves with a socket that is larger than the valvestem/keepers, with a 2x4 under the heads of the valves. They hit it pretty hard to dislodge the keepers/retainers, but I guarantee you will lose some of them. I wouldn't do it this way on a good set of valves/heads, but it is done.
Thanks a lot guys, i never knew it was that easy to remove the valves with the tool. Youtube works wonders LOL, ill take pictures and post a build thread when i get all the parts i need.
If you do remove the springs and want to pull the valve hit where the locks rests (upper land) with some 800 sandpaper to remove any burrs so the valve will slide out through the guide without gouging it
