Red hot A/C compressor!!!

I drove to Kaneohe to Tommy's house tonight via H-3 freeway. Upon arriving we noticed a lot of smoke coming from under the hood. Opening the hood I noticed that the A/C compressor clutch was GLOWING RED!!! I guess the clutch froze up.

Anyone EVER seen anything like this before?!?

Anyone got one for sale?

My Camaro did the same thing, first had a bad smell and then smoke under the hood, but did not check if the clutch was glowing red, but I assume it probally was. Which car are we talking about?

Do yourself a favor and buy a NEW compressor. Every last reconditioned compressor I've bought had noisy clutch chatter. Sounds like Santa's reindeer bells under my hood when the a/c is on.
