I've gotta stock 86-87 exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and testpipe.

Can someone reccommend a nice looking/sounding exhaust that'll bolt right with no modifications? Mufflers can be optional

Hooker system is probably the most popular and the best for the price. ATR had a good system, but good luck getting one.

3" ATR Single Shot

I have the 3" ATR Single Shot, It sounds great and is stainless steel. It is also lighter than the hooker b/c it is only a single shot. Scott

Hooker Exhaust System from Summit Racing is the way to go.
2.5 inch mandrell bent for $300 delivered to your door... and it bolts right up!

If you are looking for a fairly cheap single shot that isnt nearly as loud as an ATR, check out the one that Cottons sells. I had that on my former 86 GN and it was very well made and fits 10x better than the ATR that a friend of mine has on his GN. The Cotton single shot that I had was not stainless though, I dont know if that matters or not. Im sure Jack could make a stainless one. If you want a quieter exhaust than that and still stay cheap, the hooker is tough to beat. A friend of mine just went 11.50 through the mufflers with his.

I had a hooker system on my car when I got it.. My opinion is that it is a pc. of crap. You can get a single shot 3" form Tourqe tech for around $360 shipped. Cheaper if you go the no muffler route. I took the hooker system off and through it away.. thin material that rusted ..And the car is a southern car...

The TT system is nice and not that hard to install at all...If you live ip North where rust is a major problem then Call Jack and get a S.S. system..he can do one for ya...

Exhaust

I Would Say That A 2 3/4 Or 3" Stainless Would Be The Way To Go. I Also Had The Hooker On My Car .

One place that is still in business is Torque Technologies. They sell 2.5 and 3" systems. I think their URL is torquetechexh.com. Buy their pipes and you can pick your own muffler from them.

I have a crush-bend aluminized 2.5" exhaust that a local shop made for me about 13 years ago and its still fine. I just replaced the mufflers with Walker Ultra Flows. Very nice straight-through muffler.

Crossflow exhaust

I have the ATR crossflow exhaust it's 3" mandrell bent SS all the way back to the tail pipes. The neat thing about this system is that from looking at the rear of the car you see no mufflers having down under the car. And there is no other system that can out flow it and still sound as quiet as it is. It's pricey but it will be the last system you ever need to buy

i could make my own but i need stainlees pipe and i would have to buy mufflers. where could i get pipe from?

I was just looking at your setup and noticed that ours are similar. It gives me a good idea how my car should run. I think the only major difference is I have a lunati 210/205 cam, but I would hope that I would run faster than 90 mph by the 1/8th at 20 psi with P&P heads & intake If not, I will be selling it for a BB T-70 right after X-mas.

What ever happened with the Torque tech single 3.5 they were going to make ?

thanks all! looking at all these different opinions and price ranges, I think I'm going to have a custom exhaust made. Not sure which specs to go with yet, but I'll figure it out.

Thanks :D
