Rear seat braces

Just buy conduit tubing from Home Depot/Lowes. Make an X brace and you are done. Just a few bucks. An hour of tube tweaking, and smashing in a vise, and you'll have it done. Oh ya, and drill a few holes, too. Maybe a rattle can of Krylon would make them look nice, and a couple of pieces of hose to tie wrap the tubes at the X. Make SURE you have the flattened section at each end have TWO bolts in it, or it will still flex. Flatten the ends that are on the body end about 4" and use two bolts in line. Use 5/16" bolts and no need for grade 8, either. A piece of conduit is pretty strong, but a 1/4" bolt is stronger than the thin conduit in shear. To make the body real stiff, install a quality roll bar. That is MUCH better. But some of you'se guys/gals don't want a roll bar, I understend that. Making the rear seat brace is a great starter project for guys/gals that want to try making something. For those wrench challenged.........buy new.:) Have FUN!
