REAR END REBUILD?

Friday drove car heard little funny sound and pulled rear end cover off and "viola" one of the smal gears is all chewed up in pieces and the big gear has 2 chunks missing is this rebuildable or replacement? Thanks

not going to be cheap (around 400) if you do the work , but its cheaper than buying a used rear at 800-1000 and having to go through it and spend even more



disassemble the rear and wash it out
check the carrier for cracks in housing and check spider and side gears
(thoroughly clean carrier)
check axle wear surface (at bearing end) for damage
new ring and pinion ,
replace all bearings and races
install kit (bearing and shim kit with new ring gear bolts )
new outer bearings and seals
reassemble
