Has anyone else developed a vaccuum leak in the brake booster on the inside of the car at the pedal on their TT/A ? I believe it is due to the lousy gas here in Connecticut. Several of my older vehicles are developing the same problem. The car was surging in park at idle and surging even more in drive at idle. This was on a 400 mile car that has been in storage since the year 2000. It also happened recently to my 65,000 mile TT/A as well.
How about a vaccuum leak anywhere else ?
Are there any other chronic vaccuum leaks anyone else has encountered?
throttle body bushings?
egr valve?
Map sensor?
vaccuum block on top of the throttle body?

My iac valve recently just fell to pieces and my car was idling at 2800. At first I thought it was a bad MAF but upon inspection I saw the broken iac.

Yeah - not bad gas - more like old rubber. I would get a rebuilt unit. Just an FYI - the black coating that comes on the Cardone rebuild sucks. It will rust in no time. Make sure you give it a coat of paint before you install it if you buy one.
